Buckeyes Repeat At Big 10



INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Buckeyes won their second straight Big Ten women's basketball tournament championship by holding off Iowa 66-64 on Sunday.

No. 10 OSU joins Purdue and Penn State as the only schools to win back-to-back tournament titles.

Junior center Jantel Lavender and sophomore guard Samantha Prahalis were named to the All-Tournament team.

Lavender led Ohio State with 35 points, breaking the tournament record for points scored in a championship game.

This was the third championship for the Buckeyes, who have won all three of their championship games by three points or less (63-60 vs. Purdue in 2006; 67-66 vs. Purdue in 2009 and 66-64 vs. Iowa in 2010).

Nationwide Sponsoring Memorial


Nationwide Insurance will become the presenting sponsor of the Memorial Tournament, beginning with the 2011 event, the insurance giant, tournament officials announced Friday.
