COLUMBUS, Ohio - A kidnapping on the Northwest Side turned into a barricade situation at a motel near Port Columbus overnight.
Irvin Sales holed up inside the Baymont Inn, 4240 International Gateway, with Charity Fiskisen after dragging her from a car, Columbus Police Sexual Assault Unit detectives said.
Investigators say Sales, 28, repeatedly rammed the vehicle Charity Fiskisen was riding in until it was disabled near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Broadmeadows Blvd. around 2:22 AM.
Sales took Fiskesen, 26, from the vehicle and drove off with her, abandoning his damaged vehicle later.
Sales was arrested by SWAT officers and Fiskisen recovered after a standoff of several hours.
